No, we have members in dresses and ties along with jeans and t-shirts. However you feel most comfortable, we encourage you to come as you are.
Services start at 10 am, however many folks arrive at 9:30 to enjoy some coffee in the fellowship hall, chat, or listen to the choir rehearse in the sanctuary.
We have two parking lots : one to the side of the church and an upper lot. Street parking is also available.
No, our church welcomes all of those of faith or in search of faith. People attend church for many reasons- to worship, but also for a sense of community, to volunteer, or to work with like minded people.
You are invited to attend Second Congregational Church for as long as you feel like it without needing to join. We encourage those who are drawn to the church and decide to join, when ready, to attend an inquirers meeting with the pastor to learn about the church. After which a simple joining ceremony is done during services for new members.
We welcome children of all ages. We have small activity packets to help little ones stay busy during services, as well as a rocking chair, play mat, and toys in the rear of the sanctuary.
Accessibility and inclusion are part of our design. Our main floor and sanctuary are fully accessible via wheelchair, walker , or other aid with a drop-off area at the church side entrance. There are handicap parking spaces in front of the side doors, as well as along the back of the church by the second set of side doors. There is an automatic door by the side door.
As you enter the sanctuary, the deacons can provide you with large a large print bulletin if needed.
We have a gender neutral, handicap accessible restroom in the lobby.
No. While many people have the ability to donate financially to help support our church’s charitable work, others are not able. And ,that’s OK! You are welcome regardless of your financial ability. There are cards available as you enter the sanctuary to place in the offering plate if you have opted to give online or are donating in some other way.
